On this day, I an glad to state that Captain Demingo A. Albatross, Commanding Officer of the USS West End, has been promoted to Rear Admiral. His continued excelence has granted him primary control over the USS West End and has been granted a transfer into the Temporal Protection Authority.
As Admiral of the 198th, I am proud of Captain Albatross' accomplismnets and wish him well in his future endevours.

It's been two weeks since our shore leave and we've taken on two new vessels in the 198th.
The USS Chalmette is a sturdy ship and she has been delivered to 39-Sierra to help bolster the defenses of Federation Territory in that area from incursions by the remnants of the Romulan Star Empire. Her weapons will protect her from any attacks, but her main focus is to resupply other ships of the 198th as they run missions along the neutral zone.
The USS West End is a state-of-the-art vessel that was gifted to me by Agent Daniels. I can't go into detail about what it's missions entail, but it will be to defend the Federation from threats that can only be handled by her. Her crew was picked by me from the Federations best and brightest and I have full confidence in their ability to do their job.
The future looks bright for the 198th and we will ensure that we are ready for any threats against the Federation, be it from Romulans or other unknown threats.
After the prolonged skirmishes with the Romulan Star Empire, the USS Bayou St. John was authorized for some shore leave. The crew was excited and Admiral Bot ordered a course set to the pleasure planet of Risa.
On it's way, the Bayou St. John was hailed by a Federation Colony ship that was undergoing engine problems. They stopped briefly and beamed over a small Engineering crew over and performed routine maintenance and repair work on the Dilithum Chamber.
Shortly after the colony ship got underway, the Bayou St. John returned to it's flight path and arrived at Risa on Stardate 87499.3 and most of the crew beamed down to the planet while a volunteer skeleton crew stayed on the ship to continue operations.

After reporting to Earth Spacedock, I was told by Admiral Quinn five ships from the 198th would be redeployed from it's position at Starbase 34-Sierra to the Great Bloom in the Hobus Sector to support a covert intelligence base that is being used to spy on Romulus to ensure that the Star Empire wasn't using the desolate system to gather their forces and ready for raids into Federation Space.
Rumors were that they were attempting to send raiding parties to a Federation Colony in the Rashana system. I decided to take the USS Bayou St. John, the flagship of the 198th, with and stay at a distance behind the rest of the ships that I decided to deploy to the area. Ships that I took included the USS Luzon, USS New Orleans B, USS Metairie and the USS Bayou Lafouche. To go with them into the Bloom, I deployed the 12th Fighter Wing from my carrier.
I used a standard 3 point defensive positioning, with the Bayou Lafouche and Luzon at point at the closest location to the station, the New Orleans B 35km to the Starboard of the base, the Metarie 35km to the Port of the base and the Luzon 35km to the Bow. While I, in the Bayou St. John, was 40km to the Stern. The fighters were bouncing back and forth between the three points with the 5th Fighter Wing prepared to launch in case enemies attempted to attack from the direction of my position.
After 6 hours of our defense of the base, a small raiding party of Romulan Star Empire vessels, including 2 Valdore-class Heavy Warbirds, 3 T'varo-class Light Warbirds and one behemoth of a D'deridex-class Warbird. The battle lasted more than 45 minutes and my initial 5 ships took substantial damage, but a call out to the rest of the 198th had the Bayou Self, the Bayou Senage, and the Fauborug Delassize to deploy almost immediately and turn the tide of the battle.
The flagship of the Star Empire fleet surrendered to us while the rest were completely obliterated by the superior firepower of the 198th. The Commander of the Star Empire ships turned himself over to the Bayou St. John and is currently being held in our brig awaiting transport to a Federation Penal Colony.
